Looking in the mirror

The practice of Tai chi allows us to look in the mirror to see our true self . Each day as we go through  our sequence of movements with a quiet and engaged mind we have the opportunity to see exactly how we feel on that particular day. There is no running away from self when practicing Tai chi. There is no distraction to pull us away from honest introspection. It is a time to take stock of where we are and how we are feeling.

Beginning our day by knowing how we are feeling on a physical level, as well as emotional, mental and spiritual levels gives us the foundation for our actions throughout the rest of the day. In this way there is no guessing as to why we are doing what we are doing. It brings us back to pointing the finger inward instead of pointing the finger outward in blame.
